 Keeping to a budget
Keeping to the budget has been on everyone's mind during earthquake repairs. At Whyte Construction we use cost engineering, a practice that relates to the management of project cost. This involves activities like estimating, cost management, cost prediction, investment appraisal and risk analysis.
This means we can budget, plan and monitor your project. We look for the optimum balance between cost, quality and time requirements.
Our Quantity Surveyors have the judgement and experience to use principles and techniques for issues of estimation, cost control, budget planning and management science, profitability analysis, project management and planning and programming.
Our key objective is to provide accurate cost estimates and schedules to avoid cost overruns and schedule slips. This goes beyond preparing cost estimates and schedules by helping manage resources and supporting assessment and decision making.		  
 
 Design & Build

With a design service available we are able to adapt and modify projects to fit within budgets and construction lead times. In fact we have the flexibility and scope within our own company and the specialists we work with, to actually accelerate building and fit out programmes to exceed client expectations. This often involves working safely and unobtrusively in client-occupied work spaces both during and outside of normal working hours. Our people are always particularly security-conscious when on the job too.		  
 
 Our Process
● Consultation - we have an initial consultation to understand your needs and requirements
● Define and Design - working in conjunction with the architect/designers, we will incorporate and define your requirements
● Plan Development and Costing - plans take shape and a full construction cost and timeline is established
● Detailing - design plans are developed ready for consent submission
● Cost Confirmation - based on pre-consented documents
● Obtaining Consents - detailed plans are submitted to the Council to obtain building consent
● Final Costs Adjusted - if required due to any requirements from the Council
● Project Management - during all stages of the construction phase your Project Manager will ensure efficient project timing and keep you -up-to-date
● Final Sign Off and Handover - all work is signed off and guarantees and warranties are provided

Your Project Manager will take full responsibility for ensuring your project is delivered on time and meets all necessary building codes and standards.
Your Project Manager is the person responsible for your job and will be your point of contact. They will manage all consultants and subcontractors and ensure health and safety requirements are followed.
